The November Grand Junction Brownfields Workshop brought together over 20 attendees representing communities across the Western Slope, including Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Parachute, Silt, New Castle, Delta, and Montrose. Participants spent the day learning how to navigate environmental assessments, explore state and federal funding opportunities, and identify redevelopment paths for local brownfield sites. The workshop also provided direct access to EPA Region 8, CDPHE, and technical assistance partners, giving municipalities the chance to discuss site-specific challenges and next steps. Attendees found strong value in the hands-on discussions, agency guidance, and collaborative atmosphere. Overall, the event strengthened regional capacity and helped communities advance their brownfield redevelopment efforts heading into 2026.
