Alamosa’s downtown redevelopment is moving forward with strong momentum as construction has begun on a new four-story, 90-room hotel located on a formerly condemned property. Thanks to a timely $1.3 million EPA cleanup grant, environmental hazards were addressed early, clearing the way for the project to advance without delays. The hotel is expected to generate nearly $20 million per year in economic activity once open, supporting local businesses and strengthening the city’s tourism industry. Building permits have been issued, community priorities were considered throughout design, and the project is on track for a holiday 2026 opening, with full completion anticipated in mid-2027. This redevelopment stands as a flagship success for the Colorado Brownfields Partnership—transforming a once-blighted site into a major economic asset for the community.
